Welcome!

The day you give birth to a child is one of the most memorable days of your life. That's why it is important to be prepared.

Knowing where to arrive, how to navigate the hospital, what rooms you will be in, and where to get food and supplies goes a long way in reducing anxiety and helping things go smoothly on the big day.

Preparing for your new arrival is an exciting journey, and we want you to feel right at home before the big day. Join us for a 45-minute guided tour designed to give expectant parents a "behind-the-scenes" look at our facility and peace of mind for their upcoming stay.

What to Expect

During this walkthrough, our team will provide essential information to help your delivery day go as smoothly as possible, including:

  • Arrival & Logistics: Exactly where to park and enter the hospital, including after-hours instructions.

  • Navigation: A step-by-step guide on how to get to the Labor & Delivery unit.

  • Amenities: Where to find dining options and food for partners and support teams.

  • Room Tours: A look inside our Labor & Delivery and Postpartum rooms (subject to availability).

  • Expert Guidance: An overview of our check-in process and what to expect from the moment you walk through our doors.

Note: To protect the privacy and safety of our patients, room tours are dependent on current census and unit availability on the day of your tour. You will recieve an event reminder email 24 hours prior to your tour with parking and arrival information. For questions please contact Deb Cearnel at dcearnel@wakemed.org. Do not call Labor & Delivery directly.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you prepare for this incredible milestone!
