Name
IN-PERSON Sibling Class and Tour - WakeMed Raleigh Campus
Date & Time
Saturday, September 14, 2024, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Description

In this interactive class, your child will learn all about babies and the transition to becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister! The class includes what newborn babies look like, what they can do, and how siblings can help with the special care that the new baby of the family needs. Safety issues, such as toy safety, food safety, and being gentle with the baby are included in the instruction. There is hands-on instructional time where the siblings can put into practice, alongside their parents, what "being a helper" will look like at home. The sibling will be given a craft to complete at home. The sibling will also have an opportunity to tour where mom and the new baby sibling will be during the hospital stay.

***PLEASE NOTE: During the season when viruses such as COVID, Influenza, and RSV are more prevalent in our communities, WakeMed implements a visitation restriction policy designed to keep our youngest and most vulnerable population safe. Consequently, during this period our Sibling class will ONLY include classroom instruction, fun activities, story time, and a VIRTUAL TOUR of the space where the new sibling will be born. If restrictions are NOT employed at the time of your class, the Sibling class WILL include an in-person Tour. Please note: Masking is currently optional at WakeMed facilities for all ages. A mask can be provided if you wish to wear one during the class/tour.

Ideal age for this class is 3-5 years old, although other age groups are welcome. Please, no more than two adult caregivers per family.

Cost: $15/Family.
