This fast-paced interactive three-week series is designed for new or more seasoned parents. It covers all the basics of labor and birth preparation, including labor recognition, phases and stages of labor, ways to manage pain in labor, medical interventions such as medical induction and cesarean birth, and more. Classroom instruction will complement the textbook distributed during the first week of class. The class will meet one day per week for three consecutive weeks; 10 am - 12:30 pm. This class is "In-Person". If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or another acute, contagious illness, please stay at home and call or email  to reschedule your class. By entering a WakeMed facility, visitors are attesting that they are free of the symptoms of contagious illness. This class is held at our Corporate Center location (3128 Smoketree Court, Raleigh) and does NOT include a tour of any WakeMed hospital facilities.
