This class is designed to offer a safe space for parents who have experienced fetal loss to learn the basics of newborn care. We will also focus on the importance of parents caring for themselves during this new stage of life.
Who Should Attend: Expecting parents who have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss.
The class content will include:
-Hands-On Infant Care: Practice diapering, swaddling, dressing, and bathing a newborn using lifelike dolls and real supplies.
-Feeding Basics: Learn about breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, and recognizing hunger cues.
-Soothing Techniques: Discover calming strategies including swaddling, white noise, and responsive comforting.
-Safety First: Understand safe sleep practices (including SIDS prevention) and car seat safety.
-Postpartum Maternal and Co-Parent Care: Learn resources and options for parents to create a plan for their own care during the postpartum period.
Led by experienced prenatal educators, social workers and nurses, this class is ideal for expecting parents preparing to welcome their newborn rainbow baby. You'll leave with practical skills and helpful resources.
